UPDATE: Two injured in double stabbing near USF; HCSO investigating

Two people were injured in a stabbing at an apartment complex near USF early Wednesday morning. Deputies say all involved parties have been identified, and both victims are in stable condition.

June 4, 3:30 p.m.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office have identified the individual found deceased at 3600 East Fletcher Ave. as 21-year-old Hansel Pearson.

Pearson and one of the stabbed victims were roommates at an apartment complex on North 46th St.

June 3, 3:45 p.m.

HCSO said detectives believe the stabbing suspect is the deceased individual involved in the death investigation.

The next-of-kin notification is still pending. The name of the deceased will be released once notification has been made.

June 3, 10:35 a.m.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning in Tampa.

According to HCSO, at approximately 4:26 a.m. on June 3, 911 dispatchers received a call from a man reporting that he and another individual had been stabbed at an apartment complex on North 46th St.

Both victims were transported for medical treatment and are currently listed in stable condition, deputies said.

Investigators have identified and accounted for all individuals involved in the incident. HCSO also confirmed that the suspect and one of the victims are students at University of South Florida.

The investigation remains active. Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
