The Florida Aquarium in Tampa offers wondrous attractions, so it's no shock it has secured its place among America's premier aquatic attractions once again, claiming the eighth position on USA Today's 2025 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for top aquariums nationwide

The achievement marks the seventh time overall that the Tampa Bay institution has earned this recognition, making it Florida's sole representative in this year's rankings, while simultaneously extending the facility's streak to five straight years in the top 10. The timing also proves particularly significant as the aquarium commemorates its 30th anniversary throughout 2025.

"This is more than just a win for The Florida Aquarium—it's a win for Tampa Bay," said Roger Germann, president and CEO of The Florida Aquarium. "To be recognized year-after-year by our community and visitors nationwide is a powerful reminder that what we're doing—whether it's providing immersive experiences, engaging education initiatives, or driving marine conservation leadership—is making a real impact. We're honored and deeply grateful to our guests and community who support us."

The selection process involved a panel of travel specialists who evaluated 20 aquariums across the United States, considering factors including visitor experience quality, conservation initiatives, and educational programming. Public voting ultimately determined the final rankings from this expert-curated shortlist.

The recognition arrives during a milestone year for the aquarium, which is celebrating three decades of operation with special programming and new visitor experiences. The facility has used its anniversary year to showcase both its historical significance to the Tampa Bay region and its ongoing commitment to marine education and conservation efforts.

In celebration of their thirtieth anniversary, the aquarium will be offering $30 weekday admission to guests, as well as giving away 30 memberships to those who visit three times from May 15th- December 15th.

The repeated awards showcase the aquarium's appeal to not only locals, but also travelers across the globe. The facility's blend of entertainment, education, and conservation work has clearly struck a chord with the voting public, who have repeatedly chosen it over hundreds of other aquatic attractions nationwide.

The award underscores Tampa Bay's growing reputation as a destination for family-friendly attractions and educational tourism. For the aquarium, consistently maintaining its position among competitors speaks to its successful operations of engaging exhibits, meaningful conservation work, and educational outreach that extends well beyond its walls.
